ALECHINSKY Pierre. LOUISIANA, 1969. - Lot 10
ALECHINSKY Pierre. LOUISIANA, 1969. Color zinc print on canson paper. Sheet size: 830 x 592 mm. Subject: 820 x 580 mm. Signed, justified EA XXIX/XXX and dedicated: "À Bernard et Jacqueline, un peu d'encre sur du papier cristal, avec un peu de lumière, du zinc, etc... their friend. zinc, etc... their friend Pierre, 14 II 1969." Edition of 300 copies. Avant la lettre poster for an exhibition at the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Humlebæk, Denmark, February 15 to March 6, 1969. Zincography, also known as offset lithography, is a technique that uses exposure to transfer a composition created on crystal paper onto a zinc plate, right-side up - unlike lithography. It is then printed on a rotary press, or offset, each color requiring a separate run. Bibliography: Rivière, 371; Les Affiches, 22.
