REVUE]. LE PLATEAU. - Lot 140
REVUE]. LE PLATEAU. Le plateau Programme-revue. Director: Pierre Albert-Birot N° 1 (mars 1929) et n°2 (mai 1929) : Complete collection in 2 fascicules in 16. In 1929, P. Albert-Birot founded the Plateau theater. With actor Roger Roussot, he staged his plays Matoum and Tevibar et Barbe-bleue. In his short-lived magazine of the same name, he obtained the collaboration of Roch Grey, but above all that of Claude Cahun and her friend Marcel Moore (Suzanne Malherbe), who drew portraits of actors, including Claude Cahun. The latter played the role of Bluebeard's wife in P. Albert-Birot's play. The first issue includes a text by Roch Grey, Art dramatique by P.A.B., the program for Le plateau theater (with the plays Quand on est trois - Barbe-bleue - Banlieue - Polyeucte), Outre by André Marcou, Ecriture poème by PAB and excerpts from Aveux non avenus by Claude Cahun. The second issue includes Pages d'histoire by Roch Grey, Au Diable by Claude Cahun (aphorisms), Le projecteur by André Marcou, the program for Le plateau theater (with the plays Le mystère d'Adam - Silence - Matoum and Tévibar) and Deux mots, pourquoi j'ai fondé Le Plateau by PAB. Copy from the library of Pierre Albert-Birot with his ex-libris (red stamp PAB in a circle) subsequently offered to Roberto Altmann (writer, painter, publisher and patron), to whom he dedicated each of the issues, which Altmann had bound separately by Mercher: bradel in havana morocco, boards in bois des iles veneer. A very fine and rare copy.
