NOUGE Paul. GRAVEROL Jeanne. L'expérience continue. - Lot 114
NOUGE Paul. GRAVEROL Jeanne. L'expérience continue. Bruxelles, Edition de la revue Les Lèvres Nues, 1966, in-4, large margins, paperback, half slipcase. First edition. One of 5 copies of the first edition on Hollande van Gelder Zonen laid paper, this copy n°O reserved for Baudouin Altenloh, printer of the book. Autograph signed letter: to Baudouin Altenloh with my congratulations and my gratitude With kind regards Paul Nougé October 19th, 1900 This volume was compiled by Nougé himself, shortly before his death in 1967, with the help of Marcel Mariën. It brings together poems and essays dating from the second half of the twenties, hitherto scattered in confidential reviews. Most of the texts were published after 1950, in Marcel Marien's review Les Lèvres nues. In terms of composition, L'Expérience continue represents a highly diverse collection. Le Dessous des cartes, staged in Brussels in 1926 with incidental music by Paul Hooreman and André Souris, is one of the very few examples of Surrealist theater; in Le Jeu des mots et du hasard and La Publicité transfigurée, typography is given pride of place; Clarisse Juranville is an example of linguistic hijacking, with texts based on a textbook published by Larousse; La Chambre aux miroirs and Georgette are erotic texts; Hommage à Seurat uses the unusual world of the circus; in Cartes postales, l'Ecriture simplifiée and Dents blanches, prose alternates with poems. Attached: - subscription form signed by Nougé and Graverol - the dust jacket of the ordinary print run New, uncut.
