TZARA Tristan. Autograph manuscript, 1946. - Lot 391
TZARA Tristan. Autograph manuscript, 1946. 2 pp. in-8 (268 x 210 mm) in black ink on a slip, single-sided. Interesting manuscript in which Tristan Tzara, back in Paris after the liberation, summarizes his efforts to have the occupying forces expelled from his apartment. "T. Tzara, a man of letters, left his apartment at 5, rue de Lille, at the time of the Occupation in June 40. Pursued by Vichy and then by the Gestapo, he had to hide, armed with false papers, first in the South of France, then in the Lot region. In the process of divorce (since divorced), his wife took the initiative of moving the furniture she had stored in her name in the furniture repository, to save it from the Germans according to her declaration, and to save her share in the division resulting from the divorce. No notice was given, according to the landlady's statement. However, the apartment was rented to Mr. Nogue. Mr. Tzara won a first judgment. On appeal, on October 30 to the 6th supplementary chamber of the court (president M. Peteaud), judgment will be given on November 13. Mr. Tzara has a minor son who is a student, while Mr. Nogue has no children, is neither a prisoner nor a former deportee, and owns a property in Marly le Roi, which for him is a second home. Apartment 5 rue de Lille has three rooms. Following the first judgement (March 1946), an eviction order was issued. Mr. Tzara's lawyer is Me Aaron, 37 rue Denfert-Rochereau, Dan 79-73."
