First edition published on the occasion of the Exposition littéraire et musicale autour de Mallarmé held in Antwerp and Cologne in 1969 and 1970. Mallarmé's text is replaced by black typographical rectangles, thus completing the poet's project set out in 1897 in the introductory note to Coup de dés: "Add that this bare use of thought with retractions, extensions, leaks, or its very design, results, for whoever wants to read aloud, in a score." One of 300 copies printed on white vellum, known as "catalogs", after 90 on tracing paper and [5] on aluminum.
